Each food pantry provides walk-in assistance on a first-come, first-served basis during normal operating hours. The pantries operate on a client-choice model, through the principle of providing food with dignity. Clients select food they would like from a list of items in stock. Every pantry relies heavily on the work of volunteers to stock and distribute groceries on a weekly basis. First time clients complete a one-page application with basic demographic and household member information. Due to the overwhelming needs, we can only serve clients once a month. Asheville: Wednesday, 12:30 – 4 p.m.

It is open twice a week and is located at the YMCA Youth Services Center. The Healthy Living Pantry started in November 2013, serving a handful of families. It now provides food for up to 49 families per week, filling critical gaps for families who struggle with food insecurity.
